Summer Film Events in Austin

It’s summer in Austin which means temperatures are on the rise, iced tea is a must, and everyone ends up at Barton Springs at one point or another.  Summer time in Austin also brings a plethora of film screenings, most of which are completely free!  So thank you, Austin, for being so kind to us poor college students who stayed in town for the summer months.  Below you can find a list of screenings happening around town.

AUSTIN SOUND AND CINEMA
Austin Sound & Cinema will feature six weeks of unique pairings of live music and some of the most popular movies of all time. Bands will perform a tribute to the movie, followed by the film screening on The Alamo’s giant inflatable outdoor screen. This will take place on the lawn at The Long Center, with the perfect view of the sun setting on the downtown skyline behind the stage.

The events will all be free, all-ages, open to the public, and will fall on alternating Wednesdays from June 5 through August 21. These events are 100% free to the public thanks to presenting sponsor Aquasana, the Austin-based makers of best-in-class home water filtration systems, who will be on site with free, filtered, great-tasting water for every event.  Click here for more info.
